    19th Exeter Sea Scouts

    19th Exeter Sea Scouts provides fun Scouting and Water Activities at The Quay, Exeter, for Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers. RN recognised group 64.

    It promotes the objects and aspirations of Scouting as outlined in the Policy, Rules and Regulations of the Scout Association (POR) and promotes safe, enjoyable water activities, particularly in the Scout and Explorer Sections, for the young people of Exeter and nearby.

    A very busy group flourishing in all age groups

    Beavers 6 to 8 meeting Thursday 6:00pm to 7:00pm

    Cubs 8 to 10 meeting Wednesdays 6:30pm to 8:00pm

    Scouts 10 to 14 meeting Friday 7:00pm to 9:00pm

    The X Centre is a distinctive venue available to hire for a range of events and conferences. Managed by local brain injury charity, Headway Devon, the X Centre is a perfect venue for running courses, meetings and events. What's more all profits from rentals will be used to support the ongoing survival of this fantastic historic space and Headway Devon’s services for local people with disabilities.

Exe-Calibre welcomes new paddlers to any of its training sessions on the River Exe and Canal providing all equipment and coaching. They train 3 times per week and race during the summer and winter as well as taking part in may social occasions in and around Exeter.

  • Devon Wildlife Trust

    Cricklepit Mill on Commercial Road, Exeter is the headquarters for the Devon Wildlife Trust, a registered conservation charity concerned with protecting wildlife in Devon for the future. Cricklepit Mill is also a restored working watermill, open to the public Monday to Friday 9:00am-5:00pm throughout the year (except Christmas and bank holidays). Cricklepit first started milling in Exeter in 1220 and is the last working watermill in Exeter to survive into the 21st Century. Cricklepit now hosts monthly milling days which offer the general public the opportunity to see this beautifully restored watermill grinding grain for flour in the traditional way using 19th Century machinery and waterwheels. These milling days are usually on the second Friday of every month from10:00am-12 noon, although there are also a few Saturday events throughout the year. Stone-ground whole-meal flour produced at the mill is available to buy in reception. Please see web site for more information or call the Devon Wildlife Trust on 01392 279244. Entrance to the mill and wildlife garden is free but donations are always welcome. Groups are welcome but please call in advance to arrange a tour.
