Beautiful canal side pub situated on the Exeter Ship Canal. It can be reached by walking, cycling, by canoe or by car. It is a dog and child friendly pub with an extensive garden and possesses a volleyball court and children’s play area. Traditional pub with an array of real ales including guest ales. Outside barn, BBQ area, hog roast and a marquee available for functions.
The original Double Locks was built in 1701 as a lock house. The mast of HMS Exeter forms part of the lock gates. Also evident at the front of the pub are the rails running parallel to the lock which were used to tow smaller craft to bypass the lock itself.
Food served every day from 11:30 am onwards. Full menu is available all day and kitchen normally closes at 9:00pm (8:00pm on Sundays). Please note in the winter season the kitchen will close earlier and even the pub if no one is
